I’ve banged on about this band and venue many times before, so I won’t mince my words. This is the best venue in the city right now and in Slow Readers Club tonight it hosted the greatest band Manchester has produced in many years. A band that when the singer announces “This is a new one”, the gentleman behind me responds with “Fuck yeah!”, he’s not alone and he’s not disappointed, album three is shaping up to be a corker. There is something growing in Manchester tonight and those lucky enough to be in here tonight would be forgiven for thinking that in a years time this will be one of those “I was there gigs”. The selfish part of me wants this to be it though, this is as close to gig perfection as you’re likely to get.
