This evening we ventured over to Yorkshire to watch Slow Readers Club tear up The Belgrave Music Hall. Make no mistake, this is the best band you've never heard of. Two albums in, these four blokes are incredible live and the exceptionally friendly Leeds crowd lapped it up. Soaring songs that built and built in this superb venue, sounded every bit as epic as they do on record. A singer crossed between Ian Curtis and Jimmy Somerville (more Curtis... not so much Jimmy, but he can hit a perfect high note and Somerville was bizarrely my first reference ), the Metronic beats driven by a superb drummer and a bass player not so much plugged into the electrics as driving the entire fuckin national grid. Slow Readers Club. 10 out of fuckin 10!!
