Slaves, Manchester Academy. 18th November 2018

Tonight’s gig was a bit heavier. What’s heavier than three-piece Therapy??...two-piece Slaves! It’s quite amazing just how much of a racket the two lads from Kent can make, but couple that with a sold out Academy crowd belting nearly every lyric back at them and it’ll make your ears bleed. There’s nothing clever about Slaves, it’s straight up pile-driving drums and chugging guitars, bashing out unashamed punk. The lyrics are often a bit daft, but the ill named bare chested Issac, will scream anything with ruthless abandon regardless. Slaves don’t really have hits, but the set was packed with what they do best, big, brutal, bonkers, brain-melting punk rock!!
