My first visit to this venue and despite the stories I'd heard, it was pretty good. It was definitely over sold, way too many people for the size of the room, no matter what the promoters say, I've been to enough gigs to know when a room has gone from packed, to dangerously full. A clue is when there's about 300 people 'outside' the room looking in!
Thankfully I was inside and the sound in there was remarkably good, for what is... a warehouse. I'm putting this mostly down to the excellent PJ Harvey, who was fantastic tonight. The set was heavily loaded with stuff from the last two albums, which was fine as they're both amazing, but I'd by lying if I said I didn't enjoy old favourites like 50ft Queenie and Highway '61 that little bit more. My first time watching Polly, but hopefully not the last.
