Nick Cave, Bridgewater Hall. 20th June 2019

Nick Cave is a bit special. My second time seeing him tonight and after the first completely blew me away, I wondered how this ‘An Evening With’ would compare. A mix of Q&A interspersed with Nick at the piano, he sounded just as amazing solo as supported by a full band, with Jubilee Street and Stagger Lee sounding particularly stunning. There was no rush with 3 hours on stage and all questions, no matter how daft were indulged. With The Bridgewater as the perfect setting (no sound issues) it made a special gig all the more incredible. Honestly I’m a bit lost for words... and that doesn’t happen often!
