Art Brut, Yes Pink Room. 22nd February 2019

One of my favourites bands returned to Manchester this evening to smash out 90 minutes of pure punk pop brilliance. Striking the perfect balance between ‘Ramshackle-the-wheels-are-about-to-fall-off’ and effortlessly tight perfection, Eddie Argos and Co. were on fire. Art Brut in 2019 are as fantastic as they’ve always been, even in the face of a truly shit venue who’s sound engineer wants stringing up. Eddie’s magnetism can’t be contained though, this man is a star, one to rival any front man out there. The songs from the new album sound just as awesome as anything from the flawless back catalogue and without complicating it further, this band are simply SO. MUCH. FUN!! If you don’t like them, there is something seriously wrong you. Art Brut and Eddie have more wit, charm, hooks, originality and talent than most bands filling larger rooms and make no mistake, a sold out Yes tonight saw one of Britain Best Bands. ART BRUT. TOP OF THE POPS!
