Liam Gallagher, Manchester Arena. 17th December 2017

So Liam was superb, but more of that later. Rewind to the support acts, Trampoline were bloody awful and Ratboy, who reminded me of Jamie T, were pretty good. Right enough of that, back to Liam! Entering like a prize fighter and blistering through a set of new favourites and classic Oasis, this is the big stage to fill, his biggest in the city since Oasis split, but it’s not a problem, just more space to prowl and after over 20 years he knows what he’s doing. I’m usually not in favour of Liam and Noel churning out the old faves, but Liam picks the best ones, Rock n Roll Star, Slide Away and a brutal D’yer Know What I mean to name a few. The sound is pretty immense too and with 17,000 singing back, a wall of noise hits you even up in the gods. Even Bonehead gets wheeled out for the encore, in a gig that was every bit the home town celebration. As you were.
